See how many gigabytes (GB) you need.
If you are interested in Imediasee's Per-GB live and/or Per-GB on-demand packages you may be wondering exactly how many GB you should buy to start.
Here's a quick way to make a solid estimate of how many GB you might need.
Do the GB math:
-
Average data-rate of your videos in kilobits per second (Kbps) times
Estimated number of minutes of video watched per viewer per day times
Estimated number of viewers per day times
Number of days before you want to refill your account with more GB (we recommend buying enough GB for at least 30 days at a time)
divided by 140,000
Example:
-
512 Kbps - Average data-rate times
5 Minutes - Estimated number of minutes watched per viewer per day times
100 Viewers - Estimated number of viewers per day times
30 Days - Number of days
divided by 140,000
Equals approximately 54.9 gigabytes for 3,000 views of a 5 minute video encoded at 512 Kbps
This should give you an ballpark number for the amount of GBs you'll need for any given period of time. The service period is for the alloted gigabytes or one year from date of purchase, whichever comes first. However, Imediasee has "roll-over" gigabytes. If you purchase another package before your account expires the remaining gigabytes in your account will be added to your purchase and you will have another year from the date of your most recent purchase to use them. How cool is that!
You determine the level of discount you receive based on the size of your purchases. If you are confident in your usage requirements then you can select larger packages for greater discounts or you can purchase a small package and see how it goes.Of course, please contact us at any time if you have any further questions.
